This might be in the wrong place if so please move if required. I have been told that between Marble Arch and White City signal cabins there was a pen writer device which the signaller at Marble Arch would write the order of the trains on the WB and then this was sent to White City.
1. Was this correct? 2. Were there any other locations which had this?

As a brand new Railman doing station training at Mile End I visited Bethnal Green to see inside the escalator machine room. I was also shown into the signal cabin where such a device was located - part of it was a metal bar which projected horizontally and had a circular 'eye' at the end. A pencil could be held in this 'electric writing machine' and used to mark on a sheet of paper.

Thanks what you say confirms that other signal cabins had them it must have been a Central line thing as it was the line with the most signal cabins at the time or were there any others?
