Well, that is one of the C08s gone. Did you get the other numbers of that rake?

Much as I dislike C's with a vengeance and can't wait to see them all gone, I still feel a tinge of sadness seeing that one unconscionably scurrying to its ultimate destiny. Felt the same passing Farringdon earlier with a couple of them in the sidings - the thought crossed my mind that they might be waiting for that final journey to Northwood, though might have been short workings due to earlier disruption. But they wouldn't know that, and might have expected the worst... - sob -

There are at least two C stock running on the H&C line to night. Probably trains 237 and 261. 261 is the train that starts in the evening peak, and then runs through the evening. This was, up until last week, an S stock working, but now the Circle line peak train (260) has become S stock.

According to the S stock thread, there were quite a few extra S stocks in service today in addition to the nominated workings shown in the previous post. Do they really still need nominated workings at this stage? Presumably, all of the drivers are now trained on the new stock. I'm also assuming that they are able to stable anywhere on the H&C and Circle, so why the need for nominated workings?

Well S7s can't work into Farringdon Sidings and Lillie Bridge Depot (until they have enough Earl's Court/Acton drivers trained on them for the latter)

Is there any idea on when the final 'C' stock on the Hammercity might be yet? Took a full end-to-end trip today on the all day working (Didn't note the number, oops!) but it would be nice to try and be there on the 'last day', as I was for the A stock.

Well S7s can't work into Farringdon Sidings... Amongst some of the Crossail plans I've seen over the years, there is suggestion (in the diagrams) that Farringdon Sidings would be reconfigured to hook up with the former Moorgate Thameslink branch, thence that branch would become stabling for LUL trains. Has anything more concrete come of that (either way)....?

Has anything more concrete come of that (either way)....? It would require the complete replacement of a road bridge which crosses the end of the sidings and would be a major project. I suspect the value of the land makes office development more likely.

2 x 6-Car C Stock in Neasden Depot Klondyke Sidings. One train is behind Class 20s so I cannot confirm one Unit.
Formations are from the north 5509+5XXX+5585 and 5548+5508+5577.
5526 is still awaiting disposal from Northwood.

5585 is the C77 built to replace the original car damaged in the West Ham bombing in 1976. Sad to see that one go.

wasn't unit 5585/6585 also the prototype for refurbishment? (chosen specifically because it gave an opportunity to do one car of each of c69 and c77 stock, and highlight any undocumented differences before the refurbishment of the rest of the fleet was set in stone)

I thought that the signalling upgrade and track layout works also proposed taking over the Thameslink Moorgate branch for stabling?
Crusty - I dont see how it would involve rebuilding any bridges... The only thing in the way is the tempory ramp down to the building site at Farringdon.

The only thing in the way is the tempory ramp down to the building site at Farringdon. Checked from the station yesterday. Two sidings finish at the wall of a building and can't be extended. Appears that a link could be made by skewing one track but the site would very valuable.

IIRC the idea was to abandon the sidings as they currently are and use the space instead to branch out onto the widened lines formation then into the existing tunnels. Have you read the London Reconnections articals on Farringdon? Goes into a lot of detail about the area and its former railway paths and expanse. Its speculated that beyond the brick wall where the sidings end there might actually be a basement; on the Barbican side there are also two former sidings pointing towards Farringdon. Anyway its well worth a read! As much as the suggestion that a building will block it seems just about right for this city, I think just this one time TfL are making plans. www.londonreconnections.com/2012/london-terminals-fullsome-farringdon-part-1/

I'm still confused about something, 5713/6713 was one the units involved in the 7/7 bombing and were renumbered 5734/6734 ( that's the part I understand) on the withdrawal list shows 5734 as being sent to scrap but 5713 as still being in service can class these (what appear) two different units as the same unit? (I know it may be me being very stupid).

Are they still running a solitary C stock on the H&C? As from yesterday the peak-hour train was nominated for S Stock, so yes just the one nominated C Stock working. In the new timetable from 8 December one still remains MON-SAT only, with an additional Saturday afternoon working. None on Sundays.

To clarify the above how many C Stock will remain on Circle Line working on the new 8/12 timetable? Will the remaining C Stock diagrams reduce to those which stable to interchange with Wimbleware workings the following day?
