I preferred it when the line only ran to Charing X and was run by 72 mk II and 83 stock trains.

Well for starters, they should clean the stock up on the exteriors, the train are starting to look like 92ts!

Random thing to write an article on! I love the Jubilee Line though. Along with the Met it is one of my favoruites. I love the JLE stations and the fact that the Jubilee rarely gets jam packed. I do agree with you though bronzeonion in the fact that the trains need cleaning

I for one love the Jub. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's perfect, but the Jub (aside from the protracted upgrade) isn't bad at all!

As I use it daily - I have a typical love-hate relationship with the Jubilee line But I guess I love it - certainly prefer it to any other deep-level tube line! And reliability seems to be much better lately, and I love the recent increase in speed - saves me at least a minute every day

Its got to be my favourite line by far. There's nothing quite like doing the southbound run on the jubilee line from Finchley Road down to the Green Park, speeding down all those gradients at 50mph+ whilst clattering over all the old block-jointed track you get quite a buzz. Its more akin to the cresta run, you can be flying under the streets of the west end whilst all the cars and sub surface railway trains are dragging along above at a snail's pace. The 1996 stock are by far my favourite. Nice comfortable interiors, great acceleration + breaking and who can forget the sound! It has a great variety of architecture from the 1932 Stanmore branch then the 1879 bit of the metropolitan it nicks from Wembley to Finchley Road, the 1939 new works line passing through arguably some of the finest examples of LT design then to the bright and cheerful 1979 section then finally to the space age 1999 bit. The service has been a bit erm well you know... but TBTC has settled down a bit now and the jubilee line is finally providing a decent service. Its just taken nearly 33 years to do it that’s all

Its just taken nearly 33 years to do it that’s all It's not a bad walk from Finchley Road to Charing Cross either, I did that quite often on signal maintenance and when out with the P-way on blockjoint replacements.

The Jubilee line is certainly my favourite, I make an effort to get it whenever I can, even if it means extending my journey by a few minutes (e.g. Paddington - Waterloo, changing at Baker Street for Jub)

Well, until today I did. I had to get to King's Cross for a train to Newcastle. Allowed 30 mins more contingency than usual, and still missed my train thanks to the blundering combined incompetence of the engineers who overran at Neasden by 8 hours (?), the signal failures, the negligence of whoever allowed a 30-minute southbound gap to develop when the northbound was reopened, and the total misinformation about how long the next train would be – 5, then 10, then 12, then 2, then "at least 15".
My earlier trust in this line following completion of the resignalling is now completely betrayed. God help London come the Olympics – even without union antics.

Me too. I completely take back that bit about the jubilee getting better, it was true to its original form today ;D I was waiting for an S/B jubilee line at Swiss Cottage and my train arrived after 17 minutes. The DMI's were pretty much useless as they were just constantly altering themselves then the minute indications vanished completely. The first train was so packed I couldn't get on (bearing in mind this is 12:27 in the middle of the day and its usually relatively quiet at that time) Squeezed onto the next one and noticed that anybody who had tried to use the bakerloo at Baker St had now migrated to the jubilee platforms which were now rammed too, the train was held before every platform because of long loading times with the huge amount of people around. Along with the late running engineering work it was all compounded, in true jubilee line spirit by a signal failiure! Suspending the line between Wembley and Stanmore, phew what a day! The irony is I use the "misery" line nearly everyday to get to college, but to me its the old faithful and barely ever goes wrong. The couple a week or so occasions when I take the jubilee line for leisure its usually up the wall for some reason or another.

I like the Jubilee line but it still occassionally breaks down! The only thing which i don't like is the stop start acceraration and the jerky ride sometimes

Yes, the high acceleration on the Jubilee does my weakened back in if I can't get a seat or a good hold on a bar.

Track replacement work is always a risk, and I imagine to re-install the loop system from scratch can't be as straight forward as a couple of track circuits. I guess there will not be any works like this planned when the Olympics is on.
