Hi In another thread, the subject goes onto a 1996 stock train having trial plastic seating for evaluation. I thought I would start a new thread to discuss it in. A couple of questions linked to it: 1. Is the train with the plastic seats still in service with the plastic seats? 2. Does the train just have plain plastic seats or are there moquettes over them? 3. Are there any picutres of it anywhere? Thanks for your help!

I don't know to be honest. I'd never heard of this trial. All I knew about was the trail in the late 60s of plastic transverse seats being placed into a COP trailer. The car was scrapped in the early 70s after the reorganisation down to 7 cars.

My friend was moaning about the certain unit to me the other week! Not sure of the number though

Well I was on a 96TS the other day with unusually hard seats. I expected the typical cushioned seat and when I sat down (hard) I thought my seat was broken! I moved to the seat beside it and it was just as bad! The seat covers looked like they had been changed recently.
