Wasn't the southern terminus of the Liverpool Overhead railway underground - and with an island platform? have checked around and the station was Dingle.

Thanks for that - I never realised that the station was still around these days!

Do the stations in the Kingsway Tram Tunnel count?
Tower Hill, Mansion House and Moorgate have subterranean island platforms - so does Mile End. They are quite wide though.

Tower Hill, Mansion House and Moorgate have subterranean island platforms - so does Mile End. They are quite wide though. All of these are at the subsurface level. Not sure why all but 2 of the Northern ones have been replaced, but none of these have been given any thought to. As you said, they are quite wide, but does traffic at Mansion House justify 3 platforms? I never thought it did.

does traffic at Mansion House justify 3 platforms? I never thought it did. Platform 2 is a turnback - presumably a legacy of the time when Mansion House was the eastern terminus of the District.
