Will the clear plastic rubbish bins ever show up in the deep level stations, or will they be confined to surface/subsurface stations only?

I believe the idea is that they will only ever be used on surface stations.
They are - by nature - filled with (generally) combustible material and are considered an increased fire hazard on deep level stations.

Ugh. Does TfL/Metronet intend on having an army of litter pickers roaming the deep level then, to pick up the inevitable amounts of trash that will be left hanging around?

Most stations now have cleaners on duty virtually the whole time - day and night. The number at any station is obviously dictated by the size of it. They 'sweep' (no pun intended) the stations virtually constantly (or, at least they should) but it's a bit like Canute trying to hold back the tide! As I said elsewhere recently, my view is that we seem to have a 'cultural' problem in this country with litter. I know we now live in a throwaway society, but too many people take this too literally and expect someone else to pick it up after them! I wonder what their homes are like? Then there's chewing gum........
