I was under the impression that 96 stock formation consists of the 7th car (the special trailer) forming part of the D-end unit.
I encountered a 96 stock last week where the ST was on the A-end. The D-end was 96037 so it wasn't that the whole train had been turned.
Was I going mad or is there really at least one train with the special trailer in the wrong place?
