Hello fellow underground users from the little town of Chorleywood Im kinda new to this forum so please do excuse any idiotic comments (i'm only 16) What I was wondering was that while travelling on my first S stock from Chorleywood today (slow all stations ) it really struggled to get going at all in the rain. Whenever we left a station the motors would repeatedly cut out, even more so than in an A stock along the same stretch of line that I rode on afterwards. Is this simply wheel-slip (strange for a 100% motored train) or something different? I did notice that there was significant arching (is that the word for it) from the wet conductor rail. Sorry if i'm being stupid but I was just curious.

Which section of line did you experience this?
The S stock I find copes with rail gaps better than the A stock. Did you get the train or car number? There may have been a problem with the train!

It was during accelration after every station between chorleywood and Harrow (where it was terminated) until about 25mph according to my GPS. I forgot to mention that the S stock that then took me onto finchely road did the same thing as well. And sorry both times I couldn't get the numbers as I had to rush to get onto both trains Edit: I've checked the S stock workings and according to this the first train I travelled on was train 410 though I don't know what unit ran that service.
