What's happened to the numbered OPO Countdown Markers on the Jubilee Line Extension? They seem to have disappeared recently - how does the train operator know how much of the train is still in the platform?

My understanding was that the JLE has a different system, just an exclamation mark for the last car as per the old standard for OPO. The blue car number markers introduced system wide in 1999 were only put on the old section of the jubilee. This can be seen on the jubilee line drivers eye view (although it shoud be noted that was filmed in 2001)

What would happen if the train was in PM and the passanger alarm went off does the driver just stop or continue to the next station?

If a PEA is pulled at the train is within a station then the emergency brake will apply, otherwise the target point will allow the operator to drive the train to the next station.

Surely the correct procedure is the same on all lines - that being if a handle is pulled in station limits, you assist the train to stop and investigate?
I don't see how that changes under any version of ATO/ATP.

I don't see how that changes under any version of ATO/ATP. I think what br7mt is saying that the system does it for the T/Op so the signs are redundant - it's still the same, but the 'system' makes the call rather than the eyes in the cab?

Well, TBTC has a rather accurate train position, so there's no need for it!
Thing is though, what if you're just short of the marker - that'd mean that the train is going to stop with the rear cab outside of the platform...

The important moment is the point at which a handle is pulled - if it's before the back of the train has left the platform it is dealt with as being in station limits regardless of where the train actually comes to a stand.
That handle could be for a dragging incident or such like - carrying on to the next station is not wise!

As I understand it - the TBTC position is sufficiently accurate to allow the system to determine whether a PEA has been pulled within station limits and an EB commanded, as per the Rule Book.
