Does anyone else agree there should be more platforms or shorter dwell times at Stratford? Whenever I use the J L to Stratford, the last section from West Ham to Stratford is always delayed with a long station stop and the inevitable slow running / signal stop on the way to Stratford.

Some of this slow running/stopping will be down to "Moorgate protection" because of the layout of the terminus...

I expect slow running into the platform , despite the longish overrun, yet the delays I am thinking of seem to be down to availability of platforms. I. E Stanmore bound train passes in opposite direction, then we move into vacant platform

Longish overrun? The distance between the stopping point and the buffer stops is only a metre or two, with a fair distance behind that. With TBTC though it shouldn't be too much of a problem, as it would work exactly the same as approaching a train from behind.

The delays are not due to slow entry into the platform, they're waiting for a free platform. Even when in the middle of the inbound train it seems that the entire westbound train needs to pass by you before you start moving - slow points perhaps?

Just been comparing the first/ last train timetables. Stratford to West Ham 2 booked 2 mins southbound and 5 min NB. if trains are sticking rigidly to timetable, then that explains it. Surely bad planning. I can't see why 3 min recovery time needed!

With the new TT from 31/7/11, peak hour reversing times at Stratford 5½ mins with T/Op stepping back. All 3 platforms in use at Stanmore daily.
MF midday off-peak reversing time slight reduced at Stratford to accommodate 18 trains per hour instead of 16tph.
