How were the windows in pre 92ts fixed in? Rubber glazing strips on most 60's and 70's fleets. Like automotive practice of similar times. |

Ahh right, were those more reliable Not altogether, both rubber glazing strip and rubber mastic methods are known to leak, as well as the more modern bonded method. Quite a few D78 side windows had to be removed and refitted during their refurb programme. The A stock refurb included 100% new though in view of the longer time they had run and had left to run at the time. |
