End to end passenger service using the new TBTC signalling system has just started as of 1445. A huge milestone reached.

Yes - new TT at end of July Not quite: "Timetable Notice 209/11 commencing Monday 27June. In connection with the introduction of TBTC signalling between Dollis Hill and Stanmore, a temporary timetable will operate on the Jubilee Line on Mondays to Fridays until further notice. Two trains have been revised to start and stable in the platforms at Stanmore instead of Neasden Depot. The timing of trains between Neasden Depot and Wembley Park has been revised to allow more time in this section. Saturday and Sunday starting and stabling of trains at Neasden Depot and Stanmore sidings will be subject to local alteration."

Let's hope this will reduce delays, now that the interface between the old and new signalling is gone.

I travelled from Kilburn to Stanmore at 17:00, and back. Performance pretty much the same as on the rest of the line, except at Neasden where stopping was very leisurely – leading me to wonder whether it was in manual TBTC control rather than ATO. [ The return was the same, so maybe it's ATO being cautious with so much extralinear stuff around.] Quite a long wait at Neasden, then a false start-stop, then slow to Wembley Park (as mentioned above). Quite quick out of WP, then slow round the curve. Then normal to Stanmore. Platform 3 has evidently not seen much use yet – still rusty.
Frequency and regularity were quite good, a little patchy, with some "Not In Service" interspersed with the service trains. There was also a full service of Metropolitan Line trains (Baker Street)! Also the Rail Replacement buses are still plying up and down Kilburn High Road, almost but not quite empty – still picking up the odd customer who hadn't discovered the stations were open! Six of them parked up at Wembley Park. I suppose they can't just be switched off – and in any case would be kept on till close of play in case the tube service went pear shaped.
All in all must be pretty satisfying for the project team.

The buses are being held in case they are needed later on this evening. Theres also a contingency plan to run additional buses to Harrow should the Met need to be curtailed.
Although if we lose the Met & Jubilee at the same time the buses are going to very busy!

Certainly still on present run times which I think is what the question was alluding to. Aside from the above 209/11 is the same as WTT10.

Farewell proper signalling... Agreed, why are LU upgrading the signalling when every other metro in the world is rushing to convert to tripcocks?

Well, when I was on the Jub and Met this evening, it was confused as to whether it was running between West Hampstead and Stanmore .... trains all said Stanmore, messages at Canary Wharf said suspended and announcements were suspended due to Faulty Train at Neasden (which did appear to exist...)
I passed Neasden and the presumably faulty train and there were lots of people in Hi Vis down on the track in front of the depot entrance doing stuff, I assumed to get it out of the way.

It was suspended Willesden to Stanmore for a while at around 2000 due to a stalled train. Staff on track in depot were dealing with an unrelated issue.

To be correct TTN 209/11 commences Monday 27 Jun 2001 until further notice "Temporary Mondays to Fridays service due to Introduction of TBTC Signallng"

To be fair, I don't think we should be too critical. It's been a difficult 8 years since this whole resignalling started. The Jubbly was supposed to be ready in 2009 and the Northern in 2011. I expect there will be bad days until the system settles down but I think the people involved deserve praise for perseverance through all the troubles they've had.

Having spent two nights at Stratford Market Depot helping to convert the fleet for full line migration, it was good to see it working today. It was inevitable that we would get a few issues on the first day (Sunday) as all the systems north of Dollis Hill bedded in, but things seem to be going ok at the moment (touch wood).
Regards,
Dan

Good to hear its started, looking forward to a ride when next in London, and to checking out Stanmore 3! Lets not forget though that 1982 was the date endorsed by LT for the completion of initial ATO works on the Jubilee, as J. Graeme Bruce once wrote. The subsequent politics, ridership, ecconomics and scandals really have taken their toll.
Couple of questions; does this mean that works for the Northern line will now ramp up, and is platform 3 at Stanmore in structural gauge for surface stock?

I agree with TP, after what jubilee regulars have had to put up with for the best part of four years I think we should be glad the new system is now finally in place. Now its installed and doing its work I think a bit of optimism can be validated, the future of fairly reliable travel on the jubilee may now come to fruition. Remember that the previous tripcock system on the jubilee was a badly put together mixture of 1950's, 1980's and rushed late 1990's signalling that seemed to fail all the time, I think things will improve.

Still some software updates and monitoring to be done and the new timetable to bed in. However, installation focus has been on the Northern for some time.
