According to a tweet a few hours ago from the Railway Gazette International: "Docklands Light Railway extension to Stratford Int has not opened. Public opening now planned for 11:00 Wed August 31 " I hope that's true, get to ride on one of the first public trains without having to wake up stupidly early ;D

It looks like the first passenger train out of Stratford International DLR will be the 11:38 to Beckton, according to the TfL Journey Planner.

My train doesn't arrive at Stratford until 11.45! Damn it, damn it, damn it! Is there any chance that someone could obstruct the doors at Stratford Int and cause a delay to the service so that I can arrive in time to be on the first train?

Tickets booked for that specific train (Norwich-London Liverpool Street arriving 11.45 - booked online). No flexibility or refunds.

The TfL journey planner currently seems to be throwing up some contradictory results for tomorrow, in terms of train timings.

How odd, there's earlier journeys listed on JourneyPlanner as going in the other direction (Stratford-Stratford International), 06:41 being listed as the first departure in that direction.
But, based upon today's experience with it, it's certainly not to be trusted!
Edit: It's also interesting to note that Canning Town-Star Lane is showing services from 0634, and then an hour's gap between 1026 and 1132

There appears to be an 1130 departure from Stratford (not International), to Canning Town.
I think that I'm just confused!

How do you get from Stratford to Stratford International? I'm gonna be there tomorrow. The connecting bus service might well still be running, from close to Stratford platform 11.

How do you get from Stratford to Stratford International?. via St Pancras? (or even via Lewisham and Gravesend!) Be different, and be the first to use the southbound at Re'al Stratford. If you're due in Liverpool Street at 1145 you can bale out at Real Stratford (due 1136) in time to pick up the first DLR train there, if it's really due out of SI at 1138. You can always do the bit to SI later.

The free shuttle bus will take you from Stratford Regional to Stratford International. You can get it from the end of Platform 11 but as I discovered there is no Oyster Reader at that exit so you cannot touch out and you will get charged the maximum fare.

As usual, Daisy and Journey Planner don't agree with each other.
There is a media event today though - and it looks like the line will be open to the public early in the afternoon.

Well, purely by coincidence I happen to be in London for today, so think I know where I'm going today.

This has all been very well planned. A very subtle opening and then just let the service drift into action. Of course with Boris taking responsibility for just about everything nowadays, he couldn't show his face at a grand opening.

And gradually the first Stratford Intl train appears on the Royal Victoria departure board... They've fixed DAISY now, it no longer says Abbey Road And like clockwork those trains appear as soon to be departing back to Beckton on the Stratford International departure board... But can the public actually get on them?

They're keeping this quiet. There is a news item, but the home page has nothing. Compare that to the little stub added to the end of the ELL a few months ago.
And the new maps aren't up yet either.

Just got word on Twitter from multiple people that it is indeed now open to the public. Those trains I saw were the first public trains. Everyone to the DLR! twitter.com/#!/search/realtime/dlr

The new DLR map is on TFL's website showing the extension as open.
I will look forward to FINALLY using it when I leave work tonight.

I will look forward to FINALLY using it when I leave work tonight. Sounds like it'll be useful for you then! When I moved in to this flat in late summer 2009 I was told it was going to be open before the end of the year. So imagine how pleased I am that it's finally opening 17 days before my lease runs out and I move

I first noticed yesterday on the Picc line maps, then today on the new Tube map while looking at the DLR extension. There are now 2 different step-free symbols, one for step free from the train and one from the platform.
I understand the need to differentiate but the tube map looks even more messy now! There must be a better way?

Didn't quite get to take the very first train - but did get to quiz the managers during the pr launch.
