Erm, it seems to have slipped 1 day, to the 30th.
Hopefully.

I know many of you have recently posted that the opening could be 30th August. Unfortunately I heard today from an Olympic planner that it is more likely to be open as late as October.

Really? hmmm things seem pretty complete now - I assume Sundays emergency test is going ahead ( i have not had another cancellation email) If there is a problem at say Stratford International that is holding things up could they not start the service from Stratford ? See you there.

I did get an email first time round, and haven't had one since. From this I presume that either it is going ahead as planned on Sunday or a rescheduling is still under discussion.

Its like when you receive a new toy as a child, you cant wait to get it and when you get it, you must play with it straight away and then it just becomes part of your toy collection until it is needed again.

The DLR map says it's opening September 2011. Of course, it if is to open 30th August, then I'd probably put September 2011 too.

Which map? The one on dlr.co.uk still says "Summer 2011". And of course, some still still on public view say "Summer 2010"

Isn't it funny how they word it in a way that it sounds like they are so amazing because they are going to open it a year before the start of the Olympics (now looking like 10-11 months) instead of how they managed to totally f*ck it all up and that it should have been open 2 years before the Olympics?

In other words "We're not going to tell you when it's going to open until after it's opened".

I don't think it's going to be opening any time soon. On the emergency exercise today it was revealed that the extension had only been handed over to Serco at 20:30 yesterday evening!

I had a nice discussion with a member of staff on the exercise who seemed quite shocked to hear me mention the possibility of an opening on the 30th.

I was also there on Sunday and what a great day it was. The Psa was really great and knew his stuff. It was also him who arranged for the trip to canning town and back. As I overheard him asking one of the managers if he could. I sent a email praising the event to the DLR.

I might just do the same, it was absolutely great and better than expected but that is all I will say as this thread isn't really for posts about it.

Any news on the projected opening date of the Stratford Int-Canning Town extension yet? I presume from what I have heard it can't be any earlier than September.

When I left work yesterday afternoon, the projected public opening was the 30th August. Test running is happening during the day. New Duty Roster that was due to start on the 22nd is planned to start on Saturday including out of service running from Canning Town to Stratford International.
