I am not referring to any recent incidents but do rail anchors still exist?
Are new recruits told about them?
Where, if you wanted to, actually attach them to trains? as most recent stocks do not have eye loops on the front solebar - as '38s '59/62s '67s '72s '73s did/do.

AFAIK, rail anchors were retired when stocks were fitted with SAPBs

When I started as a train op about 3 years ago I was told about the existence of such a thing but have never actually seen one - I was told it was something for depot staff, ERU etc to worry about, not drivers.
