The steel protection hoarding was indeed removed during the holiday weekend, to finally reveal the platforms for a short while until they are hoarded off again! The 1960s platform extension at the west end is still quite evident. Posters from the time of closure still decorate this part. It maybe an optical illusion, due to the lack of the false ceiling but the platforms seem slightly wider in the central section. tinyurl.com/6bdgnd8 EB looking east. tinyurl.com/69dj3mz EB looking east. tinyurl.com/679vatu WB looking west. tinyurl.com/62ro5ec WB looking west. tinyurl.com/6g39nhg WB looking west. i have no idea who took the pictures.

Oh, wow, the impression I'd had from looking down at the station from the Thameslink platforms was that the whole station had been demolished.
