Hello all,
Why are SSL stock not equipped with an alarm which activates when there has been no activity in the cab for a period of time?
I've noticed all 'Tube' (or Small Trains, call them what you wish) have the alarm and to stop the alarm you need to depress (or twist on the 92/95/96s) the TBC then let go of it.
Is there a certain reason for Tubes having it equipped and SSL's being left out?
Answers appreciated, Christopher.

These are known as OPO alarms and are linked to the control room by train radio, on a tube line if the driver collapses action will need to be taken to get some assistance to him ASAP. Surface stock trains run in double track tunnels and assistance can be got from a train on the adjacent track, so OPO alarms are not as vital. I believe the new trains will have this feature though.
