Haven't written much here for a while, you maybe think that now everything is done on the eastern part of the Jubilee Line, all is fine. But no.
Take last weekend. Out in the east the DLR was all closed down, from both Bank and Tower Gateway. Meanwhile the nearby District Line was closed as well. So everything was put onto the Jubilee Line, as the buses that came instead for both lines were focused on Canning Town and Canary Wharf. What a crush.
But I don't think the normal Saturday trains were planned to operate there either, they do seem to be reduced when the part beyond West Hampstead is closed, as it was yet again. We also guessed there was something major on at the O2. When we went into Central London on Saturday afternoon people couldn't get in at Canary Wharf - on a Saturday! And coming back in the evening people were left behind at Waterloo going our way, and it seemed to be worse going the other way.
Despite all this our train back in the evening from Green Park was 7 minutes ahead of the next one. It must have been late because it ran at full speed all the way to Canning Town, where it was now 10 minutes ahead of the one behind. Which might be good for us, but not so much for those people left behind at Waterloo, is it?
Is there still no coordination of any sort between the works on the different routes? Does anyone at the TfL headquarters ever think that with three parallel lines, stopping two of them and providing buses to the third, but then only running less trains than normal on that third, is just mad?

It is similar out at Upminster. The C2C usually run only 4 coach trains when the District line is closed. There are odd occasions when they are 8 but not to be relied on.

Let's face it Diana the Jubilee line has been a mess from the moment they extended it. A signalling system similar to the central and victoria was all ready to go, but it wasn't working properly and they had to resort to a cheaper temporary tripcock system, in order to open the extension on time! Added to the fact that Lu promised Canary Wharf (that payed for some of the new line) so many trains an hour, and each time the Jubilee was delayed Lu got fined! It's now 2011 and the Jubilee still doesn't have a working ato system it was designed for, will it ever be finished, who knows?!
On the subject of co ordination are you aware that although London transport comes under TFL they all have seperate offices?!

I don't think it is possible to reverse more than reduced number of trains at West Hampstead and there is no other non-blocking reversing points closer to the eastern part of Jubilee...
