I have a few questions: 1. I keep seeing these signs on the central line. They're a white circle with a black triangle it, what do they mean? 2. Is there a complied list somewhere with all the target speeds? I'd find that quite interesting 3. Are there any plans to put the max speed up on the line to 100? 4. 1992 stock-The car numbers, are the first to numbers the year of production? 5. www.davros.org/rail/signalling/articles/central.htmlOn that page it says: West Acton to Ealing Broadway 2001-03-07 eastbound 2002-03-04 westbound withdrawn 2002-03-11 It's been withdrawn going westbound?

Some answers: 1. Termination point for a Engineer's Train PSR (Permanent Speed Restriction) 2. Yes, but they're too many to list here. 3. It is still possible to attain 100 in Coded Manual, the 85km/h restriction is implemented in ATO software. 5. Clive's info is out of date - it was reintroduced c. 2004 after the platform was extended at Ealing Bdy.

4. 1992 stock-The car numbers, are the first to numbers the year of production? I don't think so - each 2-car unit is made up of a 92xxx car NDM and either a 93xxx NDM or a 91xxx DM. Four 2 car units make up a train, with (obviously!) a DM at each end. The middle two units are usually NDM-NDM but occasionally a third DM-NDM unit will replace one of them - there are a small excess of this type over the cabless type. Clearly it would not have made sense to build all the 91xxx cars first, as none of them could be used until 92xxx cars became available to pair them with. It is possible the numbering scheme was chosen with the date in mind, as the highest numbers in use immediately previous to their introduction had been the D stock trailers in the 17xxx series - indeed not since the withdrawal of the CO/CP stock (53xxx/54xxx) had any Underground car had a number exceeding 18000. (similar logic may account for the 199 5 and 19 96 stocks)

Another question:
I noticed a sign at Snaresbrook eastbound. It said ENG 10. What does this mean?

2. Is there a complied list somewhere with all the target speeds? I'd find that quite interesting Clive's site lists the target speeds available. In theory you may be able to get block lengths and which target speeds would apply but I expect tfl would claim an exemption as the information is not in the public interest due to the thread of terrorism. Same would go for LUL signalling plans and track circuit information.

Another question: I noticed a sign at Snaresbrook eastbound. It said ENG 10. What does this mean? It's the commencement of a Permanent Speed Restriction for Engineer's Trains. A little while later you should see a sign as described in your question no. 1.

There's another not less than 100 meters after it. Is it because there's a bridge there?

91xxx = A car – traction car with cab 92xxx = B car - compressor car 93xxx = C car – traction car without cab
All units made up of a traction and a compressor car.
If the first number of the next three is a 4 it’s a de-icing unit.
