A few days on the Jubilee:
Dec 24 - Early closing.
Dec 25 - TfL HQ decides to do nothing (fair enough, although surprising how busy Central London was).
Dec 26 - TfL plans a service, and no engineering work for once, so it's the crews being on strike that shuts it.
Dec 27 - Crews back to work (presumably), but now it's the engineers' turn to start up, and thus close it.
Dec 28 - Closed for engineering again.
Dec 29 - Whose turn is it next to shut it? Won't the trains be rusted to the rails by now?
After 4 days of driving into Westminster (with tomorrow still to go), it's surprising how comfortable, convenient, quick, warm and cheap it is. Maybe London can do without the Tube after all.

I'm sure someone else will fill your shoes who decides not to take up the car driving option!

In 4 weeks leading to November 13th, London Underground carried 90 million passenger journeys. So do you honestly think that your car journey will be trouble free with an extra 90 million passenger journeys per 4 weeks using the roads - or are we saying only the rich and important should travel?
The Jubilee Line is closed for 2 extra days, a day shorter than those using the Met, H&C and Circle Line past Kings Cross. Hardly a surprise.
But why does it surprise you? Rock bottom industrial relations, run away projects, mis-spent public money, fare increase on the back of removal of popular Travelcards, less customer facing staff to support the ever increasing passenger numbers. When will the public wake up and see how TfL & Boris is running their transport system? Or will the Daily Mail readers have to conceed that Bob Crow actually has a point.....I doubt it.....

This Jubilee Line thing is getting ridiculous, now. I don't think there's any specific blame to lay, but it does seem to be a recurring nightmare.
The Victoria Line was recently voted most annoying (or something perhaps more official!) on the entire network, and with good reason as it was ridiculous before Christmas, but has anything specific happened since that has caused the aggravation over the past two weeks?
And is there a point to closing the line north of Wembley on the weekends? Is it making it more efficient?

Closing the line north of Wembley! That's an understatement. I was hoping to take my mum to her old stamping ground at Dollis Hill on the weekend of the 13th March to tie in with an Acton depot open day visit but it seems anything north of West Hampstead isn't running and hasn't been on weekends for the whole of February and wont be until the end of March. Typical, the one time in six months you need to use it and it's broken. Does anyone know if the Jubilee Line will be open on October weekends so I can pencil in the Acton visit for then.

Not sure what the timescales are now, but all the closures are to do with finishing off the TBTC system north of Dollis Hill. I did read Easter was the target date, and I believe the next few weekends will see some advanced testing going on - perhaps the 3rd platform at Stanmore might see some trains ?
