Never felt bouncy under me boot... Dunno what ye are on about. I am rather heavy - and they certainly bounce quite a bit

Yes, I get that slightly unnerving springback too, and I'm only 10.5 stone!

the jle is by far the best part of lu. i recently went to london bridge which was rebuilt for the jle and it still looks like a spaceship. does anybody have any pics of london birdge by any chance before its rebuild for the jle? i don't think i've ever seen any.

The JLE stations are nice, but then they did cost a lot... When it opened I remember comparing some to a Borg spaceship (in a good way...). On the subject of seeing trees from bottoms of escalators, you my be able to see a bit at T5 but on some days there the sunlight goes right down to platform level and even shines across the tracks a little!

But is looking like a spaceship a good thing?

Yes the JLE stations still look amazing. Only two things let them down, water stains and the wheely whiteboards which always look old and tired. (my own opinion)

But is looking like a spaceship a good thing? Depends if its a spaceship or not!! See what they look like in 50 years time given minimum cleaning and maintenence.

I dislike Canada Water station, my local. It wasn't designed with cleanliness in mind and seems permanently grotty, despite recently having a deep clean. I think the 'iconic' style of these stations must have pushed the cost of the extension through the roof.

I used Canada Water the other week to use the ELL, it seems pretty well normal stainless steel here and more stainless steel there
