I'm not sure wether I should post this in the District board or here, but here goes:
I suppose the bay platforms need extension when the S7 stock comes - for instance Putney Bridge and Tower Hill. Is there enough space for this? And also, does the Earl's Court east siding need extension to fit a train of S7, or is it long enough? Is the Ealing Bdy platforms long enough? I can't think of any direction to extend the island platform there (7-8?)without moving the points/track.

There little need to adjust Ealing Broadway platforms, Mansion House bay, Tower Hill bay etc. maybe just having S Stock arrestors and closer stopping (i.e Aldgate, Baker St.) S7s are only 6.55mtr (21.5') longer than a single/single D Stock. |

I was imagining at least 15 meters! 6 and a half isn't too bad  Will anything be done to the HSK-Edgware Road stations? I suppose the north side of the circle is good enough for the S7 as they are running 8 car A stock there now  |

High Street and Edgware Road are OK platform lengthwise.
Notting Hill and Bayswater will have very little work. Selective door opening will be employed I'm sure.

Edgware Road is OK platform structure lengthwise, but not as far as signalling goes - it was cleverly tied down to a strict 6-car C-stock length everywhere in the mid 1990s. Hindsight is a wonderful thing ;D Basically everywhere else will see very little alteration, with selective door opening employed at most locations. |

Surely all buffers will go on the SSR to be replaced by S stock arrestors?

I was under the impression the current westbound through road at Putney Bridge would become a bay in a straight swap - has that been dropped now then?
And the one bay road I'm wondering about is Plaistow - that is very tight for a D stock let alone an S7!!

And the one bay road I'm wondering about is Plaistow - that is very tight for a D stock let alone an S7!! At the moment we seem to be working on the basis of using the current through road at Putney Bridge and changing to the middle one later. I don't think Mansion House middle road is currently in scope but Tower Hill is. Plaistow bay road is in scope too and will take S7 after arrestor and maybe signal sighting mods - don't have details with me. |

How many platform (structural) extensions are actually happening? I've heard that most that aren't key stations are off for the time being, with SDO being employed at the majority of locations.

Currently it seems to be Hammersmith to Royal Oak inclusive. Of course Wood Lane was built long enough and just needs the barriers moved and normal enabling works. There are barrier and other works at many other stations to bring more platform into use. In a lot of cases this facilitates using all S7 doors. As related elsewhere there are some SDO stations. Most doors cut out are at Baker St (Circle/H&C), Paddington (Circle), Bayswater, Notting Hill Gate. |

I'm a little paranoid about the width clearance on the line Westbound on the District Line just as you leave Bromley-By-Bow, currently the trains seem to come really close to the C2C trains if they pass at the same time.

I don't think the S stock cars are any wider than D stocks, maybe a tiny bit narrower (but I can't remember for certain).
