Does anybody know when this brand new proposed stretch of the LO network is planned to open? Hypothetically speaking, would it be possible for LO to then offer a Circle Line type service Willesden Junction-Camden Road-Highbury & Islington-Dalston Junction-Surrey Quays-Denmark Hill-Clapham Junction-Willesden Junction. One annoying feature for passengers of the LO line between Dalston Junction and Surrey Quays is the fact that whereas the old ELL station at Shoreditch was in Zone 2, the new LO station is in Zone 1. Therefore LO's claim that the network avoids Zone 1 is not quite true because you cannot legally pass through the new LO station at Shoreditch on a Zones 2-6 ODTC.

Hypothetically, and indeed practically,it would be possible for trains to run the full circle when the Silwood Junction-Clapham Junction section opens in 2012,subject to the following: -The train must be dual-voltage -The service must either reverse at,or by-pass Clapham Junction (both possible). However, this raises the question of the desirability,in operational terms,of a truly circular service (a question debated ad nauseam in various other threads....)

You can pass through on a zones 2-6 travelcard, as long as you don't get off there!

Are you sure about that and, if so, has TfL changed something recently?
All the indications were that you'd need a ticket covering all the zones you travel through, so including z1 in this case. The only exception was to be a local fare for travel on the Dalston Junction–Wapping section (excluding boarding/alighting at SHS), which would treat the journey as z2-only.
I can't quite work out what the Single Fare Finder implies for this, though. Its prices are a little confusing; I'm not sure if they've put the local fare onto it.

The fare finder has Dalston Junction to Wapping as £2.20/£1.80. Dalston to Shoreditch is £1.80 at all times.

Surely the route taken will register as "via zone 1" and the excess be applied to the PAYG balance.
