I noticed on a Saturday foray, that the juice rail has been ripped up at Camden Road, thus trains now do not changeover here, and run through to Highbury and beyond [to Dalston Kingsland???]. So, now where is the changeover point, or are they running through from Acton on the AC?
I've not yet had the chance to ride any further east of Highbury or west of Camden, well not since just before the closure!

AC/DC change overs are now carried out at Acton Central. Richmond to Acton Central DC mode then Acton Central to Stratford AC mode.

Additionally if your coming from Clapham through to Stratford the change over is at North Pole Junction. Therefore Clapham Junction to North Pole Junction in DC mode.

Also the 2L04 (0557 Willesden-Stratford) and 2L06 (0611 Willesden-Stratford) both depart from the Low Level platform (2) in DC mode (changing to AC at Kensal Green Junction) plus 2M33 (2312 Stratford-Willesden) terminates at Platform 2 switching from AC to DC at KGJ.
But you probably knew that already...

That has always been such an annoyance! I'm sure they were considering extending the overhead lines into Shepherd's Bush station, so that the changeover could take place at a station, rather than in the middle of nowhere! At least at a station, the train has to stop anyway!

This has to wait for the signalling on the Hammersmith & City line to be immunised from the potential AC interference where the West London Line passes underneath.

You are right, the change over actually takes just as it leaves the LL platfom when it reaches the first signal, just before joining the NLL. (Kensal Green Junction itself is a bit further along) Regards Martin

There's certainly clearance for the OHL at West Brompton. when they rebuilt the bridge in about 1970, the bridge was made to Berne loading gauge for that very purpose.

This, apparently, was also why they took off most of the canopy at Clapham Jct Platform 17....to provide Berne clearance for trains from the Channel Tunnel.
