I remember following Mets up to Neasden or was it just south of Wembley Pk (can't remember where they switched back) Bit of both really. The crossover from Jubilee to Met is just north of Neasden station. By the time trains have negotiated it, they are almost halfway to Wembley ;D I think Colin D is recalling a longer term memory when the layout was some what different and there was no northbound Bakerloo to Metropoltan crossover at Neasden. The only corssovers in this direction were at the north end of West Hampstead and just south of Dollis Hill, the later being part of the connections from Willesden Green Yard for northbound departures. Metropolitan trains calling at Bakerloo stations during the early morning and late evening were either crossed at the later crossover depending on whether they proceeded beyond Wembley Park or not. Therefore Dollis Hill would only be served by a Metropolitan train terminating at Wembley Park or Neasden, and Neasden would be either northbound platform as a result. There was also a long standing practice to route Metropolitan empties from Finchley Road via the Bakerloo road to Neasden Depot though routing could be varied depending on service running. This was not as bad as it sounds today, the Bakerloo service was considerably thinner than todays Jubillee service and it usually worked like clockwork. Now for another long term memory: C stock to Wembley Park and all stations from Finchley Road, now there is a thought!

In the future, it will be even less likely, once the Jubilee moves onto full ATO unless the Met trains are fitted with the same or compatible system. In the future it will be impossible as I understand that the crossover at Finchley Road from SB Jubilee to SB Met is also to be removed. It's gone! Well the frog has. Basically the crossover SB between Jubilee and Met cannot be used.

1984 I was but a mere toddler. Actually, I must confess I was a fair way through my school education, but at that time knew very little about the underground.
