I've got a copy as well, but only on paper and it's very long! I have a short version (single page) that I carry with me for the more useful announcements. Not sure how up-to-date it is though, will the upgrade currently in progress change them?

There is a new version being written up as we speak which hopefully will be given out to all DL train staff soon all going well. I'm going to (hopefully) be piggybacking a line info book onto it all going well. Watch this space.

I think a completely user friendly new CIS would be better. ;D

I know you're all District Line drivers, but for those of us who aren't what do LSM and CIS mean? I'm guessing the latter is Customer Information System?

IIRC LSM = Line Standards Manager. Exactly what one of those is, though, I'm not sure.
The best CIS would be one which knows when to shut up and stop ramming needless information down out throats - but there we go.

The LSM is indeed the Line Standards Manager - he (or she) is basically the person who co-ordinates all the train operator training on the line. The LSM allocates I/O's (Instructor Operators) to trainees, ensures that the line supplement (a publication which contains all the line specific knowledge) is up to date, ensures stock training (including any relevant diagrams, reference books, etc) contain the correct information, ensures that all train operators, I/O's, etc are trained and licenced correctly according to their role, the list goes on..........I'm sure you get the idea..... CIS is the customer information system - though it's proper abbreviation is actually PIS (passenger information system). I had a defective one last thursday and copped a whole load of grief from the mobile train fitter and service control as I had apparently used the wrong term. Now correct if I'm wrong, but in every other facet of the company, passengers are customers - aren't they? ;D ;D ;D ;D
