I remember reading that a few years ago there were talks to take over the Ockendon line to Grays and turn it into District. Apparently no one wanted to build the connection that allowed the District to pass over/under the main c2c line to reach the Ockendon line? Does anyone know more about this?

You stole some of my thunder too A job like this would have been far more likely to happen before 1960, when Upminster Depot did not exist and District services intermingled with BR services.

I'm not liking all this fighting over my job of sniffing out old threads you know ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D As said in the original thread, it'll never happen - that said though, I do believe T fL will at some stage in the near future have a big hand to play in the services provided by c2c as far as Grays. Oyster readers are planned to go into all the stations up to and including Grays, and two T fL bus routes now go as far as Lakeside (370 & 372), with a third to Ockendon (347). The original plan was for the 370 to go all the way to Grays but I don't know why it never happened; I suspect it quite possibly had a lot to do with being too complicated to operate alongside other operators / routes in the area). It'll be interesting to see what happens in the near future.
