Currently the TfL site is showing delays on the Hammersmith & City lines due to faulty track at Whitechapel. Why has this not affected the District?

Hammersmith & City HAMMERSMITH & CITY LINE: Minor delays are occurring due to faulty track at Whitechapel. Message received 7:07pm I would guess it's a problem in the reversing platform.

Hazard a guess... but maybe something to do with point work or track involved in reversing the H&Cs but are able to keep the through Districts running... [Simul-post there ]

A few months back, the points at the west end of plat (platform) 1 could only be used in the eastbound direction, meaning all eastbound through trains went through plat 1 with the H&C's reversing in plat 2. I noticed on my second rounder early this afternoon the same arrangement being employed - so it's possibly the same scenario; but that in itself shouldn't really cause too much of a problem

There is a 10mph temporary speed restriction leaving platform 2 heading Eastbound at Whitechapel. There is also a 10 mph TSR between Bow Road and Bromley-by-Bow E/B. As a result, the District were being delayed, but the H&C, although slightly affected weren't too bad. Saying that, I finished at 2100, only 2 minutes late, whereas I finished 30 mins late yesterday WITHOUT any TSRs

Also a 10mph tsr at West Ken WB. I assume the track recording train had been operating earlier.

A district line T/O informed me that the track recording train had indeed been around earlier yesterday that is why the TSRs cropped up

Saying that, I finished at 2100, only 2 minutes late, whereas I finished 30 mins late yesterday WITHOUT any TSRs On Monday, there were loads of passenger alarms and little incidents including a trespasser who thankfully wasn't there long and a lost shoe falling in the wrong place causing a small delay. I think they just all added up. On Tuesday, the delays were caused by the ERU having to stop the service to put in the speed restrictions at the height of the evening peak. It only takes about 5 minutes for each one but at that time of day 5 minutes is a long time. Thankfully all the drivers seemed to be on a mission last night, myself included, so I finished on book. I was doing the same turn Monday and Tuesday, but I got home an hour earlier last night even though I only finished 15 mins later.

It's transferring from Northfields to Highgate next week so it'll probably be up & down the Northern soon.

As an aside the BR TRT was used many years ago up the Wimbledon line with 2xHastings DMU pwer cars, and the TRC (Track Recording Coach). It ran onto LT metals at Putney Bridge to reverse.

it actually reversed in Parsons Green sidings as there is no signalled move to reverse east to west at Putney Bridge and there section of track goes upto inline with WG7 on the e/b where as there section begins half way on the bridge for the w/b

it actually reversed in Parsons Green sidings I thought it went past Putney Bridge...the Hastings units of course would have had no clearance problems. Clearly the TRC did not foul! The BR/LU boundary was on the bridge wasn't it as you suggested, though that has now changed. In the dim and distant past there was at least one charter with a WR Blue Pullman Metro-Cammell DMU set that traversed the line from Point Pleasant. I also recall that BR borrowed the LT TRT (Standard stock) converted to third rail that was towed to Wimbledon Park Depot and then ran on the SR via Wimbledon.
