from www.ltmuseum.co.uk/whatson/121.aspxThe Forum Staff have decided that Saturday 29th August will be the 'forum' day. In the best traditions of the forum, someone on the staff has to organise it and ask you the members what you would like to happen on the day, as well as giving out a bit of travel advice. We know that the eastern end of the District is closed that weekend, so we are proposing to travel outwards from Fenchurch Street to Upminster by c2c - Oysters are valid. angelislington and myself will be travelling through the city from Victoria NR station, and we're willing to meet/gather up forum members as we travel eastwards to the Depot. What time would forum members like to gather? We have a tentative suggestion (to get the ball rolling) of catching the 1010 off Fenchurch Street, there are later trains at 1017, 1027 or 1040, so there is plenty of choice for people that have to travel a long distance. Of course there is also the wonderful post-event meet. Would Forum Members like to meet up afterwards in a pub near Upminster (there is one quite close to the depot entrance), or would you like to travel back into the city and meet in the Met. Bar above Baker Street? Any thoughts/comments/questions?

I'm up for this, although its likely I'll be travelling from Debden so I'd join the c2c at West Ham meaning a c2c that stops there (I can't remember if they all do or not) would be preferable for me.

I'll be winging my way back from (hopefully) sunny Dorset after a week away with my tribe so I can't make it. Sorry.

What are the ticketing arrangements for this? Can't see any such details on the ltmuseum website.

At the moment I think there isn't any advanced bookings facility.

Count me in! This fortunately falls on my long weekend.
As I'll only be travelling from Woodgrange Park, I'd prefer to meet up somewhere at Upminster. As for post-match drinkies either suggested option sounds good to me.

I've just found out that advanced tickets for the depot open day will be available direct from the TfL website as of Monday 17 September: www.tfl.gov.uk/upminsterdepot (link not working until Monday). Obviously you'll be able to buy them on the door if you really enjoy queuing. I don't know the price of the tickets though, but can't think that they'll be any more than £10 tops.

Obviously you'll be able to buy them on the door if you really enjoy queuing. I'm not sure where the crowds will come from to form a queue, as other than the LTMuseum website there has been no advance publicity in the enthusiast or other press. (£10 i hear)

Hmm.....
I think £10 entry is a bit of a mickey take, especially when many people are struggling financially at the moment. I've got a couple of friends that want to go, but they've said they're gonna reconsider now that it's gonna cost 'em £20 just to walk through the gates.

"Under 16s free if accompanied by an adult" What am I supposed to do then? Im 14 and no adult coming with me. Will I need to pay an adult or concession price? Edit: Just called the London Transport Museum and they say I wont be allowed in if there isnt an adult with me

I agree that £10 is too expensive just to wonder around a depot looking at trains that are not even moving.
but since when has our hobby of transport ever been cheap?

[1]The Forum Staff are in the process of finalising the details, and they'll be published on the forum in a few days.

I'd believe the poster opening times although I can guess where the 10.00am start time confusion crept in. I believe most of the LT Museum stock will be housed in the cleaning shed within the Depot and be accessible to board for all visitors.

My briefing notes (as a steward) state a start time of 11am, but request us from 10am for setting up.
