I see there a bit of an event today on platform 4... Noticed while I changed trains, some people at the east end of the platform, past the barrier and almost on the ramp... one woman was sat on the edge with three station staff standing round the barrier... Someone uttered a most unsuitable comment about calling the police...
Hope everyone involved is ok... I didn't want to ask what was happening...

On my way home about 1230, I heard over the radio that they had traction current off between Stepney Green and Whitechapel due to a dog on the line. There were 2 trains in the area one being used to crawl along to find the dog and for whatever reason a second told to pull up and stop in about the same location... presumably in the opposite direction. Unfortunately (well, I didn't mind ) I got to my home station at this point so that all the info i gleamed!

I couldn't believe the amount of fuss going on for one dog!
The controller was really good, lots of light-hearted comments ("I hear it was headed for Barking...") but in the past we've just carried on regardless of pets on the track.

I have to agree with adw... it is bad enough turning the juice off and shutting down the service for yobs on the track.. doing it for a dog is just stupid! The owners should have kept it under control..... whats next? District line suspended due to squirrel on the line

There were only 2 people there when I got into Whitechapel and they were the owners comforting the dog in her last minutes whilst they waited for the R.S.P.C.A. I must admit Ive been involved with K9's on the track before and the controllers don't really do anything about it until the animals either had a whack of 630 or its dead. I thought the controller did a good job but thats my opinion of course.
