DISTRICT LINE: Suspended between Earls Court and Wimbledon due to a signal failure at Putney Bridge. Minor delays on the rest of the line. 1755 03/08.. why don't they run a service to/from PG?

Circle [Clockwise] was also suspended for a time, due to congestion at Earl's Court. Still had severe delays when I left work at 2230.

I am surprised that the route was not S&C'ed, with trains proceeding under failure conditions. Was this because of concerns that the failure could spread to the NR interface?

indeed i have just got home from putney bridge WG15 rt1 failed after a train went into the bay road (this involves 10's points) after checking every circuit guess what i found nothing points seem to be ok so nothing to report so cant explain why the train stuck at WG15 was stuck there for 45mins plus at the same time this was going on they had a failure at PG this was the reason behind the shut down of the wimbledon road
the NR interface is beyond WG13 (next track) so it would have nothing to do with NR
