Is there any chance that Metronet's refurbishment of the station roof will require any possessions of the track that will last long enough for the e/b island to get its new starter signals?

Not as I understand it. They are currently just finishing off the protection deck from which they will be able to re-do the roof without having any impact on the service. I don't believe (although i stand to be corrected) that any track possession has or will be required. The worst we've had is an engineering train sat in platform 2 overnight.
Just for informations sake.. the protection deck is due to be finished in the week ending the 13th May, and is expected to start coming down sometime in 2009 after the roof has been replaced.

the signals are supposed to be replaced as the gantry on platform 1 and 2 is unsafe so thus no relamping or maintenance can take place these signals are EC6 and EC11 EC6 does have replacements at ground level but not yet commisioned these have been sitting there nearly 2 years bagged up everything is in place just needs connected up to the relays and off they go for EC11 though there is structure gauging issues and there is not enough room for the signals to be put at ground level for the drivers if you see something bagged up in the 6' this is a RGI which again is not commissioned in part of the cost of the refurb of the station the signals have been included so one day will be getting replaced but when who knows?
