This week's 'Rail Management' from Keeping Track 91.186.0.3/~keepingt/rm/197/RMAN_197.pdf has an article on the East London Line extension. It says work is still going to plan so that test running can begin in January but train delays are still ongoing.... "But although Neil Harvey of Bombardier agreed that although 378 deliveries are also running late, with just four three-car sets having been delivered to date, the company was confident that TfL’s requirements would be met. He added: ‘We are continuing to work closely with our suppliers." " There are three pics altogether, Dalston Junctiion station box, the Thames Tunnel from the south and further in the magazine, an interior shot of the New Cross depot - which it says should be ready to receive stock in the next few weeks. Will the line open before there are enough trains to run on it?

Hope not... Otherwise we will be stuck with the 313's for even longer ;-)

Well at the mo there are 3 378's at Willesden, ok only 2 have done mileage and will be ready for service as soon as they sort out the passenger info screens and cameras and got the drivers fully trained on them.

Hope not... Otherwise we will be stuck with the 313's for even longer ;-) i would rather the 313s stayed around for at least another 20 years, then i would not have to worry about carrying a ak 47 or taser whilst i do my door duties in the 378s.

Keith I did hear about new uniform shortly ;-) astock5000.. No def date on 378's in service except the 29th is what is being mooted around but as you must be aware dates can get cancelled due to unforseen circumstances. As with the passenger info screens.. I heard something to do with electric certifications ie making sure that the electrics don't interfere with anything else.. If I hear any more I'll pass it on..

According to a post on the SouthernRailway Yahoo group, FCC have withdrawn their 377/5s from service today due to a fault. Anyone know more? I hope the same won't affect the 378s.

What I meant was that when the 378s do enter service, will the first two units (005 and 007) enter service around the same time, if they have both finished their testing, or will one of them be needed for more driver training, testing on the DC line or something like that after the first one enters service?

I saw three new London Overground units at Euston late last night. All in one platform, I think they were fiddling with the inter-unit couplings.
