So, who got caught up when that engineering train stalled going into West Ken this morn? I think it took about 40 mins before they cleared the main

Not sure but it was approx 0940 this morning just after the peak and by the sound of it they were blocking back to Acton Town by the time it finished

LU move customers from A to B, they used to do it via 'C'.

I don't think it was an engineers train, it was described as a four car stock move. They sent a battery loco out to drag it in though!

Getting a Battery loco on scene with that amount of blocking back must have been an interesting challenge for the controllers!

Not really - they got the Battery loco out of Lillie Bridge, sent it W/B through West Ken E/B and coupled it up to the defective train - or at least that was what they were intending to do, whether that is what actually took place, I don't know as I was at Upminster at the time

Indeed. I find it quite unusual that the 1972TS would be moving around at such a critical time - surely it would have been better to try it in the off-peak?

what are they even going to use it for?
is it for the track recorder or just a random spare train?

MSO said a while back that the 1972TS, with its two trailer cars, will indeed replace the Cravens. which has gotten a bit long in the tooth. The best part is that CHTL may be sold (or given) the existing Cravens to use either as a Christmas tree or as a static exhibit. The really best part is that the Central Line ATP controller in the Cravens may also make its way to CHTL as well.

On the NOC reports it's described as a 4 car Asset Inspection Train. The battery loco coupled up on the east end and dragged it clear of the main, apparently, they were trying to back shunt into Lillie Bdge with only one motor working and got gapped.
