Why is London so bad at this? Some cities have virtually regular heritage events! Indeesd. Just recently the U55 in Berlin has replaced its regular stock with heritage stock for everday use.

Jason Bourne has always been a good user of public transport.
At least Skyfall's District line not as bad as Sherlock's!

Good idea. We have something similar in Dublin called "Leap90". If you use your Leap card (our version of Oyster) to start a second journey within 90 mins of first you get 1 euro off. Applies on train bus and tram. And every journey restarts 90 minute clock.

Is this a new Driver Eye View by 125 or just the old ones now available to download?

Last time I was in London I did the Bow Church to Bow Road interchange. Took far longer than I expected and at one stage thought I was lost.

Did "Secrets of the Overground" not state that you can travel from Clapham to Highbury via ELL but not be charged for passing thru Zone 1 as the system doesn't know if you went ELL or WLL?

Never met him but very sorry to hear this news. Without this site I doubt I would ever have photographed an Underground train.

Thanks for the comments. I seem to do well on these little trips catching something unusual by chance. Pity I didn't have time to hunt down and travel on the 'S' Stock.

Hi all, Spent the last three days in the UK, mostly in London but Portsmouth and Brighton had visits too. Pictures include all three classes of 378s (378/0, 378/1, 378/2), a Southern 313 in Brighton, three GM 66s, many tubes, and a tour along the East London Line. Though I must admit that for me all of the above paled into insignificance what I got to see the beauty that is 60163 'Tornado' pass through Stratford at some speed, a locomotive which I first got enamoured with twelve years ago. 'Twas a fine sight on Friday: www.railsceneireland.fotopic.net/p65096079.htmlRest of the pictures, including some non-trains, can be found here: www.railsceneireland.fotopic.net/c1854493.htmlEnjoy!

Hi all, Not exactly London, but a few weeks ago while trying to get back from Berlin I passed through Paris where I travelled on one of their new metro trains: www.railsceneireland.fotopic.net/p64405133.htmlCollection, as large as it is, also has shots from metros in Germany.

I managed to travel on the set on Tuesday by chance. Was having dinner in Victoria, and decided I wanted to travel on Met so went down to the station to get Vic over to Kings X and lo the set came in! Was very pleased!! www.railsceneireland.fotopic.net/p64157211.html

Odd, but I was only looking through some ghost station stuff yesterday! This is quite a decent site: Clickety clickOh that's a great site. Could spend the rest of my life just going through it and examining the shots in detail. Cheers!

It was a good thing I got this train when I did then! Must try to photograph more Victoria stock next time in London but it can be a bit difficult to get them while underground. Maybe I should head out towards the depot.

Hi all, Spent the last two days travelling around London by train, tram and tube. Highlights of the trip include 67008 on the VSOE at Victoria, 59s, 66s and 90s on Freightliner and EWS trains at Stratford, a 357 in NatEx/c2c livery, and 313s and 378s on the North London line. I spent most of the second day travelling aroudn my tube, on the Circle (when it was running!), District, Northern, Jubilee, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines. Also some non-train shots are included: www.railsceneireland.fotopic.net/c1790650.html I thought I was doing well with all that but then at Stratford steam loco 34067 Tangmere turned up on a charter: www.railsceneireland.fotopic.net/p62464872.htmlAnd then one of the newest locos in Britain made an appearance, General Electric/Freightliner Powerhaul 70001: www.railsceneireland.fotopic.net/p62464901.htmlAll in all, a good trip! Enjoy!

Spent most of my time when in London on District and Picc, though prefer the former over the latter. Bakerloo holds a certain level of fascination for me.

I was visiting the National Archives in Kew. We always stay in Jury's in Heathrow, I don't know why. Maybe it's the Irish connection. Not the easiest place to get to Kew from but I enjoy travelling on the Tube.

The photo was taken from hotel room. A few minutes earlier I had woken up, opened the curtains and saw a Qantas 747 coming straight at me!

Hi all, Spent the last two days in London (baby!) for research purposes but did find time for some photography. Underground trains from Bakerloo, Central, Circle, District, and Piccadilly feature in one form or another, as do 313s and 378s. Also making a brief appearance is a 66 and the Mark 3 rake at Willesden. Enjoy! www.railsceneireland.fotopic.net/c1776996.html Also this non-railway picture managed to sneak in. Don't know how... www.railsceneireland.fotopic.net/p61941820.html
