No, still hanging on. Just a few diagrams left though and less than ten units.

Sorry if this has already been asked before but is a precise date of when the Elizabeth Line Core is opening up? Not yet, but I imagine we'll get one within a couple of weeks.

Don't you mean without walking between the cabs? No, the driver needs to change ends regardless. The traditional way would be to drive the train from Paddington to the siding, change ends while stationary, drive the train back to Paddington. The autoreversal will see the train drive itself to and from the siding while the driver changes ends meaning there is no need for the train to be stationary in the siding for longer than it takes for the points to move and signals to clear. So, the driver is walking along while the train is moving?

Pre-local election purdah might be an issue - they can't have a big public launch in April.

The fact that they invited a well-known blogger, who had written extensively on TfL, to this operation, suggests either they didn't know who he was or were relaxed about it the whole time.

Did that, back when it was less complete, as part of an Open House event some years back. Look forward to seeing it in operation and plan to book a day off in the opening week if I can.

Okay thank you! Also, another question. Will Whitechapel be on the central section from Abbey Wood? Or will it be on the Shenfield - Liverpool Street branch? Both, it’s the last core station before the branches The route map is hereFrom Stratford, trains will go into a portal just west of there, but I believe some services will still go into the "high level" platforms.

DVA at Battersea Power Station: "This station is Battersea Power Station. Exit here for National Rail services from Battersea Park and Queenstown Road." Aren't those both OSIs?

The ticket office frontage ended up at North Weald, didn't it?

Then you would swap the maps over.

Daft question, but what are 'direction of travel line maps'? Separate left and right hand versions, such that the (eg) easterly end of the diagram is always at the eastern of the train. System doesn't work on lines with loops in alas. The Central doesn't really operate with a loop though; it's effectively split in two at Hainault, I believe.

I'd imagine having the maps facing the direction that the train is travelling - for example all the maps would have Epping at the eastern end of the train and West Ruislip at the western end.

Does this relate to why Custom House and Abbey Wood don’t have platform edge doors? Would freight be going through Custom House?

Is the Woodford shuttle the only four-car service?
Also, am I right in thinking Epping-Ongar never operated the 1992 Stock?

Whichever way you look at it platform 5 could not accommodate a nine car class 345 train. The nine-car 345s are 205 metres, while three 306 units came in at just below 155 metres.

That's correct. Some units have a cab at one end, other have no cab at all.

The extra platform width between the two remaining "Crossrail" tracks is to be welcomed. In any event, having two platforms serving the same track would just confuse people.
