As I see the TFL Class 345’s in service on the GWR I cannot forget how similar these trains are to the BART San Francisco Network. Both the Class 345’s and the new and old BART trains are all from the Bombardier Stable and what great trains they are. I hope to have another visit to SF and have another overdue ride on the BART

So will we see the return of 3M sticky tape to keep the car ends in place and maybe cardboard sides and doors for the 92 stock? XF

Mayor Khan is focused on getting rid of diesel cars and carpeting London with cycle lanes along with his other interests! He lacks the experience in transport and is the wrong man for the job! Until Khan is replaced nothing will happen with many tube projects as we are seeing more and. more!

Watford Junction Metropolitan Extension Delayed According to The International Light Rail Magazine Tramways and Urban Transit May 2017 No. 953, the “Watford Junction extension is delayed” Details below :- “Meanwhile, TfL has notified the London Assembly that the Metropolitan line extension to Watford Junction cannot be delivered within the scope of it’s GBP284.4m (EUR332m) funding package; it suggests that the scheme may have to be dropped or delayed until a solution can be found to meet the GBP50m (EUR58m) funding shortfall. " Is there anything further about where they got their information from, or is it a rewording of existing sources that we've already seen? What i posted was all that I had - It does not look good and Mayor Khan appeasrs only to be interested in Central London!

When will something be done about prams on escalators that are precariously balanced on one step with a a child or two on board? This is an accident waiting to happen. Maybe a training course on how to fold and unfold a pram might well be good idea!

All you ever wanted to know on Class 501 headcodes!
North London Line Class 501 Headcodes
First Letters
A - Express B- Stopping C - Empty Stock
The full codes were in the front of the WTT after introduction of the 501's and the full list in the 1962 WTT was:
EUSTON AND Down Up Watford 1 1 Willesden Jct. New Station 6 1 Harrow & Willesden 7 1 Bushey & Oxhey 8 1 Croxley Green 9 1
BROAD ST AND Down Up Watford 2 2 Richmond 4 4 Willesden Jct. High Level 5 4 Willesden Jct. New Station 6 2 Harrow & Willesden 7 2 Bushey & Oxhey 8 2 Croxley Green 9 2
RICHMOND AND Down Up Willesden Jct. High Level 4 4
WATFORD JUNCTION AND Down Up Harrow & Wealdstone - 7 Croxley Green 9 9
EMPTY TRAINS TO Down Up Mitre Bridge Shed O O Dalston Sidings X X Croxley Green Shed Y Y Stonebridge Park Shed Z Z
3 was used by the DMU's working the Belmont and St Albans branches, which were shown in the timing pages but made no reference to the B3 headcode.
The 1963 WTT list was reduced with the closure of Mitre Bridge Shed for electric trains and the withdrawal of passenger services on the south curve of the Croxley Triangle. This list in 1963 and 1964 was as follows:
EUSTON AND Down Up Watford 1 1 Willesden Jct. New Station - 1
BROAD ST AND Down Up Watford 2 2 Richmond 4 4 Willesden Jct. High Level 5 4 Willesden Jct. New Station 6 2 Harrow & Willesden 7 2
RICHMOND AND Down Up Willesden Jct. High Level 4 4
WATFORD JUNCTION AND Down Up Harrow & Wealdstone - 7 Croxley Green 9 9
EMPTY TRAINS TO Down Up Dalston Sidings X X Croxley Green Shed Y Y Stonebridge Park Shed Z Z
The 1965 WTT saw a through Broad Street to Croxley Green and a Broad Street to Watford via Hampstead Heath service with one each way in the peak direction, with the Belmont service now closed 3 was finally used, so the list was amended as follows:
EUSTON AND Down Up Watford 1 1 Willesden Jct. New Station - 1
BROAD ST AND Down Up Watford via Queens Park 2 2 Watford via Hampstead Heath 3 3 Richmond 4 4 Willesden Jct. High Level 5 4 Willesden Jct. New Station 6 2 Harrow & Willesden 7 2 Croxley Green 9 2
By the 1967 WTT the list was reducing again as follows:
EUSTON AND Down Up Watford 1 1 Willesden Jct. New Station - 1
BROAD ST AND Down Up Watford via Queens Park 2 2 Watford via Hampstead Heath 3 3 Richmond 4 4 Willesden Jct. High Level 5 4
RICHMOND AND Down Up Willesden Jct. High Level 4 4
WATFORD JUNCTION Down Up AND Croxley Green 9 9
EMPTY TRAINS TO Down Up Dalston Sidings X X Croxley Green Shed Y Y
In the 1969 WTT:
EUSTON AND Down Up Watford 1 1
BROAD ST AND Down Up Watford via Queens Park 2 2 Watford via Hampstead Heath 3 3 Richmond 4 4 Willesden Jct. High Level 5 4
RICHMOND AND Down Up Willesden Jct. High Level 4 4
WATFORD JUNCTION Down Up AND Croxley Green 9 9
EMPTY TRAINS TO Down Up Croxley Green Shed Y Y

Now we have Brexit, I would like to think that the German Government's sponsored companies (DB Schenker, Arriva) where informed that their services are no longer required. Do others agree!

These trains could be a low cost option to provide public services on some of heritage lines on weekdays and enable these railways to increase their revenues!

I will be at the Acton Weekend with Watford Clarendon Road however due to multiple family illness I have been unable to carry out much work on Watford Clarendon Road so the layout will be very much a WIP demo. I look forward to meeting old friends and new this coming weekend
See you there!
Nigel.
