Don't think it will be a couple of years more like 12 to 18 months tops.. As soon as the ELL get their fleet then the extra coach will be added to the 3 car fleet.. Can't seem to find the press release from Bombardier but at the mo they are at least 7 months behind schedule.. Found this on the tfl site.. www.tfl.gov.uk/corporate/media/newscentre/archive/7525.aspxBottom of the page "The first trains are to be delivered at the end of 2008, with the final deliveries at the end of 2010" Well it end of May and 378005 has done it's mileage and now 378007 is next in line.. Found this as well www.tfl.gov.uk/corporate/media/newscentre/archive/5432.aspx"The order is in addition to the 44 new trains currently being built by Bombardier for London Overground, which are due to enter service on the North London Railway from 2009 and the East London Railway once open in 2010. The extra carriages are due to enter service in early 2011."

Pah !! You beat me to it ;-) Had a look around 005 this morning. Tech's were tweeking with odd's and ends that needed replacing due to general scratches etc. Looks very nice inside the passenger area, not as wide open as I thought..Still looks nice though.

Seems like one of the 378's last night had a bit of bother with some ballast whilst on it's test run.. Sounds like only minor damage.. opps...

Shame that 005 or 007 can't enter service... Seems like they'll have a launch in the bay at at Willesden Jct and then pop it back in the Tmd...

I believe the Watford DC line is currently DOO, and I doubt this will change with the new stock. If the DC line is DOO, then couldn't the 378s run on that service at first, until enough conductors are trained (or maybe there will be enough conductors avalible by the time they enter service - I don't know how long it takes to train one)? The last I heard was that the doo equipment was causing a few problems. The plan was to run 378's on the DC as if there were any problems then the fallout would be kept to a minimum. But as the doo equipment has a few teething problems they have decided to run them on the NLL & the WLL first..I would love to sit here and explain the plan but to be honest I really feel like there isn't one, unless someone would like to put me right...

No guards/conductors being displaced... Nll & Wll staying Guard/conductor operated

They are designed for both DOO and Guard/Conductor operations.

Hi ya routemasterkeith.. That seems to be the problem that a lot of people are saying about training etc... Monday 18th May 2009 is what I was told had been penned in but hey this is a seriously delayed project and anything is possible ;-) Just don't hold ya breath ;-)

Monday 18th was the dated being mooted around for 378005 to enter service and will run on the NLL or the WLL.

Anything is possible the way things are going.. May 18th is the date being mooted around for the next unit to arrive. But as always don't hold your breath ;-) If things get really bad then the ELL will end up poaching the 3 car 378's to use on the ELL just to get training done and to start some sort of service.

More like a complete overhaul... From what I was told 378001 & 378002 should be the last 2 units to arrive before the ELL start to get there's but who knows what is going on as they are so far behind schedule...

378005 should have been sent to Willesden on Wednesday 8th but a delay means that it will arrive on Wednesday 15th instead. Guards will still be working them on the Richmond to Stratford and Willesden Junction to Clapham Junction lines..
