Seven Sisters, which has two OSIs - one "internal" between LUL and LO and one "external" with South Tottenham.

The viaduct looks like Arnos Park, between Arnos Grove and Southgate.

Initials spell "prank" so maybe Southgate or Southfields to pluralise the prank.

I was at Moorgate this afternoon and the two DMI displays on the platform were showing different destinations (and waiting times). How on earth is that even possible with two displays that ought to be fed from the same source?

The whole story sounded a load of duff notes for me,so I think it's just a work of fantasy. The link is from the Daily Star. What do you expect?

*This is the train to (destination) is not proper railway English. Nothing wrong with it as English though, except that "the" should be "a" as there's more than one such train a day. On-train announcements should be in English, not "Railway English" (ie jargon), since they are for the benefit of passengers, not staff.

I'm fairly certain that Fulham Broadway is still the nearest station to Stamford Bridge. Could the link simply be that they are all/were premier league stadia I knew that, but knowing that Crystal Palace's ground is Selhurst Park (nearest station, Selhurst) , Spurs have currently decamped to Wembley during the redevelopment at White Hart Lane, and Arsenal have moved from Highbury so their nearest station is now H&I, I was looking for something to do with Fulham FC rather than Chelsea - and as the nearest station to Craven Cottage is Putney Bridge - it seemed to fit. Obviously I was overthinking it. Highbury and Islington is definitely not the closest. It's either Holloway Road or (still) Arsenal on LUL or Drayton Park (when it's open).

C is Southgate.
D, I think, is Clapham South.
Which would make A North something, to be replaced by its South namesake. I'll leave others to fill in the gaps.

I was once delayed for about 45 minutes on a RRB between Arnos Grove and Southgate because instead of turning right out of Arnos and following the 298 bus route the RRB turned left, straight into major road works on the North Circular/Bowes Road junction and sat there for 40 minutes. This was about 8.30 in the evening so they'd had plenty of time to work out that that route wasn't a good idea. Totally brainless on somebody's part.

Noticed a change to the automated announcements today. "This is a Northern line train via Charing Cross, terminating at Kennington", instead of the old "This train terminates at Kennington via Charing Cross". Sounds a bit odd as the different parts of the message were obviously recorded at different times. I suppose the idea is that most people are more interested in which Central London branch is used than whether it goes to Kennington or Morden. I would hope it's the fact that someone in authority has finally worked out that there's no such place as 'Kennington via Charing Cross'.

It's a staffing matter about who drives passenger trains in passenger service. Ridiculous. If you can drive the train empty you can drive it with passengers.

The best possible solution would be to adopt the already familiar naming convention such as: North London Line (which would incorporate the WLL) East London Line (which would incorporate the SLL) Gospel Oak-Barking Line (which will almost certainly be referred to as GOBLIN) Watford DC Line West Anglia Line Romford-Upminster Line I don't disagree with much of that but who, apart from enthuisiasts, refers to 'the Watford DC line'? What's wrong with Euston-Watford? Or just 'Watford Line'

I think I understand what hounddog (welcome BTW) means, Bounds Green has a centre platform, so with the line on your left you are either facing north on the northbound or south on the southbound. If that was the south end of the northbound then the platform/line would be reversed, making at excellent Quiz question, but a less-good answer Exactly. In addition the monitor and signal indicate we're at the driver's end of the platform.

Full house! Answer: Location A: Bounds Green - south end of northbound [Chris M] Surely it's the north end of the northbound or the south end of the southbound.
