Boarded a westbound train at Blackfriars around 7.40am yesterday, pulled up short at Temple waited a few moments then drew up to the stopping Mark, at Embankment pulled up short again, this time rather sharpish causing a few in the car to lose balance, before drawing forward to the stopping Mark, appeared back to normal by Westminster. Could this be where the signals are placed at these stations or some other reason ?

So, could A be Angel station, the longest escalator, and with today being the anniversary of the Mallard setting the world steam record, is the link something to do with record breakers? PS not sure how the rest fit in but thought I would, have go none the less.

Arriving at Waterloo yesterday from Westminster the train stopped and the moved forward a couple of yards so guess the opposite to the above but at least I didn't have to travel via Southwark! Same thing happened on the district coming into St James Park, In the morning.

Been using this station for a while now and have noticed the eastbound 'next train' display, doesn't show the next train until it's almost in the platform, and no info about subsequent trains. Does anyone know if this is due to the two lines merging at that point or some other reason?

Often caught a glimpse of them when flying into or out of Southampton, now I know why they are there!

Hopefully you will get a few more chances. There will be a last official run at some point, but nothing is confirmed at the moment. The sad part is I remember sitting on the platform whilst some of the D stock predecessor's went by in case a D turned up!

Came through Earls Court this morning around 7.30 saw 7007 pull into adjacent platform, unfortunately as it was rammed solid, decided against leaving the S Iwas on for what could have been my final D ride..

The train could state Weymouth as the destination as its one of the diversionary routes down to Southampton, usually rejoining the mainline near Weybridge, ps looks like Chiswick as well for the answer, don't know about the main picture.

District Line eastbound, held at Victoria, doors closed and open buttons lit up, is this actioned by the driver, or does it happen automatically after a period of time, incidentally one door was opened by a passenger to get on, could see others rushing down platform to that open door to board!

Somewhere, and I can't remember where (Leicester Square maybe?), there is an escalator with blue footprints on the right hand side of every alternate step. Trod on them Wednesday afternoon, Westminster second escalator from circle / district to Jubilee eastbound.

This may be a false memory, because if I saw it I would have been around seven, but I distinctly 'remember' an extremely short, extremely steep 'ramp' on the Central line at Greenford. Is there such a 'ramp', there? On departure London bound trains have to climb over the Greenford West Junction, the east bound also drops into the platform where it also crosses the same line with the Paddington push and pull rising up between them.

Worked next door for 15 years, back in the day it when it was a branch of that red DIY brand store, quite handy at lunch time when decorating etc.
