Is there any reason southeasterns class 376s still have the old yellow door livery and have not been updated to match the networkers? Would have thought it’s time for a change seeing as these have been in service for 14 years now

To be honest, I quite like the Class 376 in the current livery. The lights in the Networkers are a more darker tint IMO so I quite like the SE livery that they're in. With the 376s, their lights are a more yellow-ish hue which is why I wouldn't mind them staying how they are.
On another note, sometime last year Southeastern produced some leaflets with a Networker in the old yellow door livery. I may still have it somewhere...

The logical time to do so is during refurbishments - which is why the SE Electrostar fleet are changing from White (always a bit of an unwise choice on trains unless its kept spotlessly clean) to Blue. The other thing to remember is that the SE franchise is up for renewal at the moment providing even less encouragement for Govia to do anything not strictly necessary yet as the incomer may have new ideas. Who know we could see a SWR / GA style 'complete fleet replacement' for suburban duties that would get rid of not only the Networkers, but the 376s too.

However Virgin have just started painted the Pendolinos white as the operator may change soon. I understand that if Virgin win another term the red bits will continue to flow along the train like they do on Azuma.

Surely not, how much more rolling stock is going to go to waste at this rate?! I cant imagine where both the networkers and 376s would be redeployed!

I cant imagine where both the networkers and 376s would be redeployed! The Networkers are getting on a bit - they would be nearly 30 by the time any new trains could be delivered. 376s are Electrostars and could well find a use boosting existing Electrostar fleets, for example by displacing the 313s and 455s on Southern (Note that the 378s on the Overground are also Electrostars...........)

The 376s are still newish, and the existing paintwork may still be under warranty. I think this is why the Networkers remained in Network SouthEast livery for so long after privatisation.
