At 06:45 the Metropolitan line was part suspended with no service south of Wembley Park due to a signal faliure.
The ramifications of this went on until about 11:15 when a notice was given on TfL's status page to expect a 45min suspension of the service south of Harrow-on-The-Hill to allow for emergency engineering works to take place at Wembley Park.
Now it is here that the information gets sketchy. Between 12:45 and 13:45 the service suspension is shown to have been lifted before being re-instated for a brief interlude between 14:00 and 14:15 with severe delays running up until 15:30 and irregular service gaps persisting until 16:45.
Firstly, are the above service statutes loosely accurate and secondly, what was the root cause that gave the Metropolitan line so much grief today.
