Over time, many threads have been created across the forum with regards to the London Transport Museum's aim of restoring the Q Stock, or simply making reference to these historic trains. These are some examples:
Q Stock to run again (Historical section - 19 March 2016)
Q Stock Project (Historical section - 13 March 2011)
Video with Q Stock (District Line section - 27 April 2008)
Q Stock Project (Historical section - 23 October 2005)
Chris W has been liaising with the London Transport Museum and Q Stock Project volunteers for some months and has written an extensive feature article that has been published in the September 2017 edition of Rail Express magazine (edition 256).
Images captured by Chris W during an Acton Depot visit to meet one of the volunteer teams working on the cars, can be found on his Flickr site HERE.

Forum members and visiting guests now have the opportunity to get actively involved in the project, assisting the museum complete the work and even gain new skills.
The London Transport Museum is seeking to boost the number of volunteers working on the cars, encouraging anyone who might be interested of all backgrounds and experiences, to get in touch. Volunteers would be invited to nominate which aspects of the project they might be able to help with, being assessed and then offered assistance when necessary. An abundance of knowledge and experience exists in the form of former LUL staff, so much guidance will be given to volunteers.
There are also others ways that those interested can get involved, for example as part of an oral history project at the museum. The LTM is seeking to interview former LT staff who operated the units, those that maintained them or passengers who may have travelled in them.
