I got off the westbound Piccadilly at Sudbury Hill at around 10am this morning and the train indicator in the ticket hall was showing the next eastbound train as a High Street Kensington service in 8 minutes. Unfortunately, I was running late for an appointment so couldn't hang about and by the time I returned to the station around 15-20 minutes later just the normal Cockfosters trains were showing. I guess the HSK was an engineers train but can anyone confirm this? I use the Piccadilly most days and can't recall seeing an HSK service shown before today.

There are several Youtube clips of Picc trains to HSK one from Northfields and similar one in reverse direction. also worth watching are cab views by "Old skidmark" (dont know the exact reason for his name-)

I was surprised to see HSK shown as the destination as I assumed the train indicator would only show Piccadilly line destinations, Not In Service or Special.

As from next Monday, due to the uplift to 890v regenerative braking on the District, the 1973 stock will no longer be permitted to be routed to High Street Kensington. We will still be permitted as far as West Kensington but will have to cut out certain equipment (heating and AC) before being authorised East of Hammersmith.
