I touched upon this subject in a thread recently and today we've had another example of an abbreviation being used without prior explanation of its meaning.
Please, it's common courtesy to use the full length phrase initially with the abbreviation in brackets afterwards to indicate its meaning so that everybody else is left in no doubt as to what the poster is referring to if the abbreviation surfaces again. Assuming that people will understand without explanation is not good posting practice and rather poor form IMHO, particularly as we are experiencing an upsurge in new membership who may well not have the experience of those already here.
It's not a major inconvenience to follow this idea and will save me pulling people up on it in future, which I've no real wish to do. Note that this is not up for discussion......
