The third week of October 1985, we are on our honeymoon, we travelled all over the island by tube and bus,but mostly by walking. In this evening photo, with only us on the train, my 6 foot, blonde, green eyed, beautiful 20 year old Swedish wife has just done a somersault using the hanging straps and is just finishing off the landing I see the interior is a very pale green, I remember it as being darker, but never mind. Can you identify the stock from this photo? I can see the very old ornate vent above the end door.
Without a number, to my untrained eye, I'll be almost impossible to confirm the stock.
FYI whilst most have gone for scrap, 4 cars survive at the LT Museum at Acton. The two Driving Motors of which were pilot vehicles, so they never made it to the Isle of Wight. In the long term I understand that the museum would like to restore them.... but there's the Q stock to do first !!!
At school they taught me how to be, so pure in thought and word and deed, they didn't quite succeed Pet Shop Boys - It's a sin (1987) ___________________________________________________________________________ District Dave's London Underground Site Webmaster
