For my own curiosity, I've just worked out a few statistics about the quiz year: 358 questions, 76 of which have been links (28 plain, 30 with an odd one out and 18 with a 5th in the set) 564 seperate locations - 495 appeared once, 68 twice and 1 three times for a total of 634 locations to identify Of those, 396 were current TfL stations and 168 were other (e.g between stations). 14 current stations did not appear this year, and (coincidentally) 14 Current TfL stations made their debut.
634 location images by 21 different photographers, an average of 1.77 per day. 126 days featured one or more backgrounds or insets 267 background / inset images by 8 photographers. An average of 2.12 insets/backgrounds per question featuring one or more, or 0.75 per question over all questions
This leads to a three-question bonus quiz, I'll post the answers at some point on New Year's Eve. Rincew1nd and Colin D don't have the answers so can play along too. 1) Which is the one location to have appeared three times in 2016? 2) Which 14 current TfL stations made their debut in 2016? 3) Which 14 current TfL stations did not appear in 2016?

Chris M's post pushes me into what I meant to do a few days ago and, on behalf of all the staff and forum members to give a great big whacking thank you to Chris and the team ( Colin D and rincew1nd)for all they do with the quiz and making it such an enjoyable part of the forum (even though I'm absolutely rubbish at it and don't even spot my own photos). We're fully aware of how long it must take. If any forum members have more time on your hands than they might normally and want to find personal favourite questions of the year, please feel free - I know I've been bowled over by some of them. My starters for ten: On a different note, as per previous years, if forum members want to post their own quiz-style questions while the team take a breather, please do go ahead.

I'd like to echo the thanks for the daily quiz. My favourite is also the multicoloured arches. It would make a great poster.

Personally, I liked 24th November's District extravaganza. Similarly, 14 December's variants on Shepherd's Bush was fun, particularly the nested Shepherd's Bush-es

What I like about the quiz (despite knowing Jack **** about most of the questions) is the way it brings the forum members together, and for that it's absolutely brilliant. Mind you, I still have nightmares about being interrogated mercilessly by Chris M at the Acton Meet Social quiz earlier this year after Dstock7080 returned home leaving me last man standing. It was almost as intensive as being quizzed by John Humphrys on "Mastermind" or "Today"! I've not felt as much pressure since walking onstage to support Big Country in Doncaster c.1991!

I think they do a brilliant job, frankly, and would like to suggest that the coloured arches shot gets made up into a limited edition poster/t-shirt/etc. All that needs to be added is the legend 'District Dave's London Underground Forum'. Proceeds from members would make for a decent contribution to a charity of the team's choosing.
