Hello All,
Last Friday I sat on the Night Tube themed Piccadilly Line train and am certain the seats looked different. They looked more like the pattern on the Northern Line train seats. One assumes this means the Piccadilly Line is having it's seats refreshed/changed? Is this the case?

I travelled on the 'Night Tube' themed train this evening, which has received the new seating. This same set never used to have the new seats, so it must therefore be a project they are rolling out - it has been a long time coming. The seats are relatively well padded compared with the 1996 stock, with the colours complementing the red arm rests and blue grab poles. They suit the Piccadilly line well.

Weren't the moquettes refurbished several years ago?

Same colour as Jubilee/Northern or a variation such as new Bakerloo ?

Same colour as Jubilee/Northern or a variation such as new Bakerloo ? Some of the cab seats had the standard moquette (saloon retained squares) which replaced the post refurb moquette. Might be different when applied to saloon.

Indeed, can confirm that all cars of units 103 and 252 have been fitted with Barman moquette.
Get your pictures of the Tube Lines style whilst you can - assuming the rest of the fleet follow all Tube stock will then have Barman (Bakerloo line with its own variation).

When was the existing cover installed on the 1973 stock? (the tube lines dark blue one). It also surprised me this wasnt the first to be done as the 1973 stock is far older than the 1996/1995 stock, yet it seems more attention has been on the latter two recently.
Also, if the bakerloo got its own version of the barman, why didn't the jubilee or the northern line?
Also as a side not, the 2009 stock does not have barman installed yet

The Bakerloo variant of the Barman looks great and fits in with the existing (tires) design of the fleet well. I always wondered why they didn't also do this for the Central where the blue contrasts hideously with the red poles. A red or maroon variation would have looked far more preferable.
I remember the insides of the 2012 Olympic logo being touted as infinitely variable for corporate branding and was puzzled that they never did something similar to be able to match the moquette to existing colour schemes. I suppose economies of scale let to them trying to get just one variety.

The problem with moquettes is that the minimum run is considerable.
I once saw a vast quantity of RT fabric long after the the last bus had been withdrawn. Much the same happened with the Routemasters.
This is why the LT Museum are offering a range of products made from old moquettes.

The entire moquette on the 73 stock really does need to be replaced. I see loads of units with patched up perch seats, with little patches on the corners, and tape everywhere, like this:

After viewing the pics, I think it looks amazing!

Well, I spotted this on my way home yesterday, so clearly they are starting to retrofit Barman moquette for ad-hoc replacement, whereas before they were just using plain blue for the perch seats.

I've noticed a few trains with patch repairs using barman/square moquette glued on top

The current Tube Lines/Squares Moquette looks pretty grubby, and I've noticed a lot of patch repairs, with bits of moquette stuck on. Will the Barman eventually be rolled out on the 73TS?
I know the Night Tube wrapped units 103/252 have it but that's it.

So the Night Tube Livery has been removed but the new 'Barman' seating has been retained on units 103/252. It certainly still looks shiny and bright inside and the exterior is much more clean. I wonder if more units will undergo a refresh. So far it appears to be a patch and mend job on other units. Corners pieces of moquette have been literally stuck on and in some cases have peeled off already.

This is odd, i thought they would use the barman moquette, its actually blue like the line in this case! A little odd as i thought tfl wanted to fit this moquette across all lines eventually? (Except the bakerloo which got a different colour barman and s stock which ofcourse has seat covers which don't need replacing yet)

Doesn't the Barman moquette feature the London Eye?
