Does anyone know why this morning (08/08/16) at 10:17 T246 was sent into platform 1 (the District Line platform) at Hammersmith? Many confused tourists going to Heathrow missed it as they had their backs to it.

There is no booked moves over this route anymore but it could of been for a training run that would be requested at the time

signal problems approaching Acton Town WB fast meant Piccadilly trains were sent via the local line.
At a similar time a District Line train accepted the wrong route towards Northfields but was thankfully set-back before too much embarrassment was had.
