The lifts at Tower Hill were certainly working on Saturday. The WB one placed between the two staircases, closer to the east-end of the platform. The EB one is also placed near the 1960s staircase and is reached by a short passage off the platform.

Yeah, they opened last week but I guess today is the better day for publicity, considering the other re-openings.
Anyway, to add to the above, the westbound lift is accessed from the 'Way in' concourse, and the eastbound lift from the 'Way out'. Still work ongoing, but the entry side is starting to look a lot more attractive now that hoardings are coming down - very Green Park-esque. Will post photos up later.

Does that now mean the station is one of the select few that have step free access?

Does that now mean the station is one of the select few that have step free access? Yes, although I *believe* (Don't quote me, I've not had the chance to check for certain yet!) that it's manual boarding ramps to get off trains.

Is this just before the last of the D stock go or do they need to install platform humps or something?

looks nice - i remember when i used that sttaion years ago - its was hard to exit or enter without lift but now TFL installed them so its very good to have lift meaning people can interchange between DLR and Tube easier btw no photos of new step free route to DLR

The ramps are for the S stock, I think the platform isn't straight enough in the middle of the train to be classed as step free to train,

The lift on the westbound platform has developed a very annoying fault. The voice which says "stand clear of the doors" sounds extremely coarse, rattly and jarring. Must be a fault with the speakers

Anyone know why the lift on the westbound platforms has 3 landings (the top one leads to street level and is locked off)
